Jeremiah House
Young adults, ages 18-20, live together with unit leaders from
September through July in a house in South Bend's near northwest
neighborhood made available by the Sunnyside Presbyterian Church. The
young adults are recruited from across the US, Canada and Europe
through the Service Adventure program of Mennonite Mission Network.
They serve in church and community ministries and share their stipends
and earnings to support the household. Each Service Adventurer is
paired with a host family in the congregation. The house is named after
the Old Testament prophet who encouraged the Israelites to "seek the
welfare of the city, for in its welfare you will find your
welfare." Contact the church at 291-0924 to learn more about how
you can get involved. |
