Youth Ministries
Youth/Advocate program The Youth/Advocate programs matches youth in grades 7-12 with adult mentors. Youth/Advocate pairs meet the first Sunday of every month during the school year for breakfast and some kind of planned activity. Some pairs also meet one-on-one or in smaller groupings at other times during the year. Junior high Sunday school - Junior highers and teachers meet every week after worship for about an hour to read a biblical text and think about it together using the “Gather ‘Round” curriculum. Junior high night - Junior highers gather at the church with sponsors on the 3rd Wednesday of the month during the school year for pizza, activities, and/or games. Senior high Sunday school - Senior highers and teachers meet every week after worship for about an hour for Bible study or other topical discussions. Midweek Youth Bible Study Student leaders plan and lead a midweek Bible study the first 3 weeks of every month during the school year. The group meets in homes from 7-8:45 for Bible study, sharing and prayer, and snacks. Mennonite Youth Fellowship (MYF) During the school year, MYFers and sponsors meet twice a month, once for activities and once for a game night. The MYF summer trips follow a four-year rotation: Mennonite Youth Convention, a service trip, a nature trip, and a training activity. Each MYFer donates 40 hours of service each year to the congregation or to a service agency of their choice. |
