The people who attend Kern Road Mennonite Church come from many backgrounds and varied vocations. We are teachers, doctors,
business
owners, stay-at-home parents, and children. You name it. We are social
service and construction workers. We are bankers and retailers and
students. Some of us are currently unemployed or retired. Some of
us were born outside of the U.S. Many have traveled to other lands. We
are a people who generally try to think globally, multi-generationally,
and environmentally. We grew up Catholic, unchurched, Baptist,
Evangelical, Amish, Methodist, Presbyterian, Coptic Orthodox,
Mennonite, blended and other. We estimate that at least 40% of our
current attenders were not raised in a Mennonite church, but resonate
with the commitments of Kern Road and our denomination, Mennonite
Church USA. Quite a few of our current attenders knew very little about
Mennonites when they first came.
